The Scottish Government has announced the appointment of three new Funeral Sector Inspectors – Robbie Beattie, Terry Dickson and Martin Jeffrey – who join existing inspector Robert Swanson to strengthen oversight of Scotland’s funeral sector.
The expanded inspection team will begin a rolling programme of inspections across funeral directors, burial authorities, cremation authorities and hydrolysis authorities, helping to ensure compliance with legislation and codes of practice while supporting consistently high standards across the sector.
Scottish members should be aware that inspections will begin shortly, with inspectors responsible for determining their own programme of engagement.
