On the morning of Friday 26th and Saturday 27th June 2026<\/strong>, as a group representing Bereavement Services in various guises, we are looking to fall backwards (whilst preferably connected by rope) from the Palazzo Tower adjacent to the main Trafford Centre in Manchester. It is a prominent 172-foot structure that scares me every time I pass it from ground level so looking down is going to be even worse.<\/p>\n

The reason for doing this? To raise money for Once Upon a Smile which is a fantastic charity looking after bereaved children up to the age of 18 years…<\/p>\n

Grief is a natural response to death and most children don\u2019t need specialised grief counselling. What they need is to feel safe, cared for and to have their grief acknowledged while navigating BIG feelings at a pace that feels right for them.<\/p>\n

Whilst we can\u2019t take away the pain of bereavement or fix things, we can provide appropriate support by educating children on death and dying. With information children and young people can begin to process what\u2019s happened and grieve in a healthy way.<\/p>\n

Please support us to raise money by lowering ourselves (But hopefully not our dignity) down the side of this imposing tower.<\/p>\n
