This is set out in section 59 of the 2016 Act.\u00a0 Section 60 of the 2016 Act sets out the penalties that may apply if these requirements are not complied with. A Guidance Note issue by the Scottish Government on the new procedure can be downloaded\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/iccm\/wp-content\/library\/iccm_New%20Crematorium%20-%20required%20procedure%20in%20advance%20of%20operating%20.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color: #0071a1;\"><strong>Joint Guidance on Coffin Weights in Scotland<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Following the introduction of the Cremation (Scotland) Regulations 2019, the NAFD, Scottish SAIF, ICCM and FBCA have published joint guidance on dealing with the requirement for funeral directors to submit the weight of a coffin to the cremation authority. This guidance is for the interim period of 6 months to allow funeral directors time to purchase appropriate weighing machines. A copy of the Guidance can be downloaded\u00a0<a href=\"\/iccm\/wp-content\/library\/iccm_Cremation%20Regulations%20-%20guidance%20notes%2005-04-19.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color: #0071a1;\"><strong>Updated Guidance from the Scottish Government<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>New cremation forms in Scotland came into use on 4th April 2019. The Scottish Government has issued some updated guidance relating to the new forms, which can be read\u00a0<a href=\"\/iccm\/wp-content\/library\/iccm_Updated%20Guidance%204th%20April%202019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color: #0071a1;\"><strong>Scotland &#8211; Revised Form A6 and Cremation Registers<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Scottish Government have issued updated guidance on a revised Form A6 and on cremation registers.
