Review of Charters for the Bereaved – Formation of a Working Group

The ICCM are seeking volunteers to form a working group to undertake a review of the Charter for the Bereaved and the Charter for the Bereaved Choosing Natural Burial.

Introduced in 1996, the ICCM Charter for the Bereaved was a revolutionary approach to setting customer care and environmental standards for bereavement services. Since then it has helped authorities to attain and maintain high standards, and it remains at the forefront of the sector as a useful tool to guide continuous improvement. With many developments currently taking place in the bereavement sector, and increasing concern for the environment, it is time for the Charters to be reviewed to ensure they are relevant and fit for purpose not and into the future. To do this the ICCM is seeking volunteers with a particular interest in, or skills and experience of the areas covered by the Charter. Further details, including how to apply, can be found here.
