As the Government begins to lift lockdown restrictions, burial and cremation authorities will need to consider what this means for their services. To help authorities with some of the issues this will raise, a guidance document has been produced. The list of measures in each stage is not necessarily exhaustive, and there will be local conditions to take account of. Authorities will need to be mindful of laws, regulations and Government guidance before introducing any changes or entering the different stages. The guidance document currently applies to England; Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own restrictions in place, although the suggested stages for cemeteries and crematoria would apply throughout the UK.
